Jurnal Optimasi Sistem Industri (JOSI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of intellectual property protection and ethical publishing practices. This policy outlines the journal's guidelines on copyright, publishing licenses, peer review ownership, publication costs, prepublication considerations, plagiarism, redundant/overlapping publication, and conflicts of interest. The journal adheres to the Core Practices outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Copyright and Publishing Licenses

Authors who submit their work to JOSI retain the copyright of their articles while granting the journal a non-exclusive license to publish, reproduce, and distribute the article under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) license. This license permits readers to share and adapt the work for non-commercial purposes, provided proper attribution is given and any derivative works are distributed under the same license.

Peer reviewers retain the copyright to their review reports unless a formal agreement specifies otherwise. However, all reviewer reports submitted to JOSI are considered confidential and intended solely for editorial use in the manuscript evaluation process. JOSI does not publish reviewer reports or identities without explicit permission from the reviewers.

Publication Costs

JOSI operates under a diamond open access model, providing unrestricted access to its content without charging article processing fees or other publication costs to authors.

Prepublication Considerations

JOSI considers manuscripts that have not been formally published elsewhere. Prior dissemination of research findings at conferences or posting on recognized preprint servers does not automatically disqualify a manuscript, provided such dissemination does not constitute prior formal publication and the manuscript is not identical to the preprint. Authors are encouraged to disclose any prior dissemination upon submission.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism in any form is strictly prohibited. Authors must ensure that their submitted work is original and properly cites all sources. The editorial team utilizes plagiarism detection software (e.g., Turnitin) to screen submissions. Manuscripts with a similarity score exceeding 25% will be rejected without review.

Redundant/Overlapping Publication

JOSI does not accept manuscripts that substantially overlap with previously published or concurrently submitted work. Submissions under review elsewhere, or republishing previously published work without proper acknowledgment and justification, are considered redundant publication and are not permitted.

Conflicts of Interest Disclosure

Authors are required to disclose any financial, institutional, or personal relationships that could be perceived to influence the research or its interpretation. Full transparency in these disclosures is encouraged to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record.

Peer Review Ownership and Confidentiality

Peer review reports are the intellectual property of the reviewers unless a formal rights transfer has been agreed upon. All reviews are treated as confidential documents intended for editorial use only. JOSI will not share, distribute, or publish reviewer comments or identities without express permission, except as required by law or with the written consent of the reviewer.

Policy Review and Updates

This policy is reviewed and updated periodically to ensure compliance with evolving best practices in publishing ethics and intellectual property. Updates will be communicated to all stakeholders and made publicly available on the journal's website.
